BYRD % HEWETT I JOHNSON JAMES SULUVAN FURPLESS Tiny, Little Miss pageants this Saturday night The 17th annual Tiny and Little Miss N. C. Fourth of July Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 19. at South Brunswick High School. Nine girls are vying for the title of Little Miss. They will compete in sportswear and party dress modeling and individual interviews. Eight girls are in the running for Tiny Miss. They will compete in a group interview and party dress modeling. Pageant tickets are $4 for adults and S2 for children. Headlining the entertainment at the pageant will be Lisa Young of Long Beach. A former Miss Brunswick County, she currently holds the title of Miss N. C. Petite. Performing with her will be Maleta Murray, Little Miss Brunswick County; the Steps Ahead dance team from Dance Connection; Michelle Glapion, Little Miss Cape Fear Country; Robbyn Francis, Little Miss Black Pearl; Natalie Tyner, Little Miss Carolina Beach; Annie McLeod, Little Miss Wilmington; Tia Corbett, Junior Miss Seacoast; Brittany Bab son, N. C Tiny Miss Fourth of July; and Erica Ratcliffe, N. C. Little Miss Fourth of July. ‘Young Miss’ Shannoa Michelle Smith, daughter of Johnnie and Sheri Smith of Southport, has been crowned Young Miss Carolina Beach Princess. Shannon is an eighth grade student at South Brunswick Middle School, where she is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. ‘Little Miss * Natalie Michelle Tyner, daughter of Wayne and Pam Tyner of Bolivia, has been crowned Little Miss Carolina Beach. The library is now using a computerized system, and each person check ing out books will need a new photo identification library card. Permanent residents of Brunswick County, age 16 and older, may borrow books from the BCC library. They can obtain a card by showing proof of residency, such as a North Carolina driver's license, completing an ap plication and paying a $2 fee. BCC library identification cards can be obtained between noon and 5 p.m. Thursdays, June 17 and June 24, or Wednesdays, July 14 and July 28; or between noon to 7 p.m. Monday, June 21, and Thursdays, July 1 and July 22. Used book sale scheduled The annual used book sale will be held June 28-July 2 at Brunswick Community College’s Southport annex. The sale is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
